Llano Master Gardeners Board Meeting
Tuesday, January 8, 2008; 9:15 a.m.
Norm and Audrey Millen's Home, Llano
T Shirts
Sandy Shaw-project coordinator, is still looking at the T-shirt possibility with Fains, to achieve a better product with the logo on the back, LMG lettering on the front and a less bulky fit.
By Laws
The bylaws revisions and corrections will be retyped and submitted at a future meeting.
Project Updates
Chamber of Commerce would like us to do a makeover of their premises, they will fund the project with MG's planning and executing it.
Main St. will supply signs for ongoing projects recognising LMGs.
Library- MG training classes will be held here this year. Need to set up a library committee to continue with completing the beds. Maybe enroll new students at the onset of classes in this project.
Mulch-We will purchase this by the pallet at wholesale price and Celia has allowed us to store it at her nursery. Timi DeBusk-program co-chair-and Sandy will collect this.
Awards
We propose to submit three projects for consideration at the Texas Master Gardeners conference April 24-26th, these are the Mason Habitat for Humanity House, the Pioneer Park project and setting up the Web Site.
L&G show
Norm & Audrey are setting up 8 or 9 vendors for the show,propose making a questions board [gardening related topics] and lining up several speakers covering the topics of local gardening, growing herbs, using herbs for cosmetics, cooking with herbs.
MG training
Sandy is working on the course content with a proposed start date of March 12th or 19th.Dave Franks-publicity, will get some information in the paper{s} in the next few weeks. Sign up for the course will be through Vivian at the extension office. If the class is not full by the L&G show, we can promote it there.
Archives
Julia asked that we all particpate in keeping historical records up to date by supplying her with photos and project information to make it more meaningful.
Refreshments
It is proposed that these will be supplied at meetings, we now have a budget,{simple} which can be signed up for, or will be assigned.
