Monthly Meeting Minutes

January 2008

Regular Monthly Meeting of Llano Master Gardeners
Thursday, January 17, 2008; 5:30 p.m.
Llano County Extension Office
Don Durflinger, presenter

Norm Millen welcomed our guest speaker, Don Durflinger of Sonlight Apple Orchard in Mason.   Don gave a very informative talk on using natural remedies for our own health.   He quoted a book, Folk Medicine authored by Dr. Jarvis who advocated the use of apple cider vinegar and honey because in combination they contain potassium, iodine and other trace elements which can all help with sinus and stress problems.   Don gave us a taste of his "brew" which is made with 8oz water, two tspns apple cider vinegar and two tspns honey and may be consumed several times a day.
